Nebulizer for Respiratory Support
Part of our “Respiratory Protocol” when someone in our home is dealing with respiratory issues, such as a cough, is to use a natural solution in a jet nebulizer. We personally found this method in 2020 and have seen the benefits in our home over the last couple of years, but this method was developed by Dr. Brownstein many years ago. He has used it successfully with his patients for over 20 years for all kinds of respiratory viruses. To learn more, you can purchase his book A Holistic Approach to Viruses.
But for now, let’s keep it simple and I’ll share the recipe + supplies needed below. I suggest purchasing the supplies before someone in your home has need for the nebulizer. The sooner you begin this protocol, the more likely you are to have success in fighting off those respiratory viruses.
Here are the supplies to have on hand:
- Sterile 0.9% Saline (We use this Sterile Saline)
- 3% Hydrogen Peroxide (We use Essential Oxygen 3% Saline)
- Lugol’s 5% Iodine (Get $5 off Lugol’s when you use my link)
- Jet Nebulizer (The one I purchased is no longer available, but it’s just like this one)
HOW WE make a large batch of the solution for multiple treatments:
We mix 250cc (250mL) of saline with 3cc (3mL) of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). We store this solution in a glass container in the fridge for up to 3 months.
how WE do a nebulizer treatment:
- Add 3cc (mL) of the large-batch solution above (Saline + H2O2) to the nebulizer cup. Add 1 drop of Lugol’s 5% Iodine.
- Hold nebulizer mask over nose and mouth and turn on the nebulizer jet compressor machine.
- Breathe normally and take in the solution through the mask. Keep mask to face until the treatment is finished – the “fog” no longer comes through the mask when it’s done.
- We repeat this 2-3 times a day while actively fighting off a respiratory virus.
This is just one part of our Respiratory Protocol. To see more of what we do when someone in our home is battling respiratory issues, check out my Respiratory Highlight on Instagram.
