Nontoxic Fabric Softener
I recently shared a DIY fabric sheets recipe, but if you’re more of a fabric softener kinda gal, these recipes are for you!
CastilEO FABRIC SOFTENER
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup Pure Castile Soap
- 10 drops essential oil of your choice (I like Purification or Lemongrass for laundry recipes)
- 1/2 cup baking soda
- 1/3 cup distilled white vinegar
Directions
- Add soap + essential oils to washing machine soap dispenser.
- Sprinkle baking soda over the clothes/linens in the drum.
- Add vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser (or during final rinse).
Fabric Softener Crystals
Supplies
- Glass jar with lid like these
- 1 cup Epsom salts
- 10 drops of essential oil of your choice (I like Purification or Lemongrass for laundry recipes)
Directions
- To glass jar, add Epsom salts. Drop essential oils on the salts, close the lid tightly, and give it a good shake.
- TO USE: Add 1/4 cup of your softener “crystals” into an empty washer drum. Add clothes and wash as usual with your homemade laundry soap.
- NOTE: Do not put this into the liquid dispenser or dryer.
